Orange Room

Pancake Day

The children in Orange Room have been celebrating 'Pancake Day'. To start off we filled the tray with flour and added resources that would usually be used when making pancakes such as frying pans, whisks and plates. The children enjoyed exploring the flour and using the tools.

The children then got to eat some pancake alongside their usual toast time snack, choosing between two toppings honey and chocolate spread. With supervision they were encouraged to use their fine motor skills to spread the toppings over their pancake using a butter knife, roll it up and enjoy!

Library

This week we took some of the children to our 'Day Care Library'. They had the opportunity to look through the books and find a few books that they might like to read or even some that they recognised. The children were then encouraged to pick a story that they would like to take home and put it in their new school book bags.

Library is open  for children and parents to visit and borrow books 8.45-9.30am

Gloop

Once the children were familiar with the corn flour, we added water so it became a Gloop mixture. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Gloop and getting stuck in.
